History of the PCFA
In 1994 the Commercial Coarse Fisheries Association was established by a number of uk fisheries to actively promote angling and to act as a combined voice for Coarse Fisheries.

Over the following decade membership increased to just under fifty UK fisheries, all with a common goal to ensure best practice was promoted within the industry and to raise the profile and awareness of angling as a recreational and professional sport.

The modern well managed fishery acts to ensure the health of fish stocks together with promoting wildlife conservation and preservation of habitat together with providing venues and facilities so anglers can easily access and enjoy fishing.

The PCFA has acted to promote best practice within the industry via their fish handling guides and by helping new anglers access quality coaching and training via the taster session initiative, run in conjuction with National Fishing Week.
